Audio Slideshow: A Day On For the Unitarian Society of Germantown as it Observes MLK Day
The slideshow shows the various community service activities that took place at the church Monday.
Monday marked the 25th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and the Unitarian Society of Germantown celebrated by organizing a day of volunteer work.
It was a day filled with numerous community service projects, both on-site and off, and a large crowd of volunteers.
Service projects included letter-writing campaigns spearheaded by the Northwest Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network and the Unitarian Universalist Pennsylvania Legislative Advocacy Network, bag lunch preparing and decorating, reading circles, park clean-ups and more.
