Setup for an art and music festival behind the Sedgwick Theater this weekend will begin Saturday at 6 a.m.
October Gallery's Deborah Stephens said vendors would begin setting up for the Artz and Groove Festival then. The festival will run through the day Saturday and Sunday, and there will be events inside the 7165 Lounge on Germantown Avenue as well.
The gallery is putting on the event.
"Everything is (going) just fine," Stephens said.
Stephens said there would also be parking for festival-goers available at the Acme lot at the corner of Germantown Avenue and Sedgwick Street.
You can read all about the event and look at a schedule here. There is going to be an outdoor music stage in the parking lot area, and there's going to be indoor entertainment as well, both during the day and at night. The performances will include music and poetry slams.
There will be artists showcasing their wares, as well as an authors' pavilion, a Brazilian artists' area and a wellness evolution section as well.
Outdoor activities will be limited to the hours between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., according to festival organizers.
