After Challenging Financial Month, East Mt. Airy Neighbors Express Optimism
Fundraisers are coming up.
April wasn't the easiest of financial months for the East Mt. Airy Neighbors organization.
Treasurer Dutch Klugman said at a meeting Tuesday that the organization had a $340 income in the month.
The organization also had to pay its taxes and other bills, so it had a $3,600 deficit in April.
"It was a bad month," Klugman said. "There's no getting around it."
But board member Dan Muroff said it was important to keep in mind that the organization knew it would have to pay its April bills.
Plus, he said, it has some fundraisers coming up. Mt. Airy Day is Saturday, and EMAN's annual dance party is also approaching.
"We rely on both of those," President Kent Reichert said. "It will be a short-term disaster."

Another reason why I won't join a group who apparently operates beyond its means!
