A List of Places Open on New Year's Day

Bars, restaurants and coffee shops are all open.

 

The bleary-eyed will no doubt be headed to businesses that are open on New Year's Day throughout the country—and the world.

Luckily, there are plenty of places in Mt. Airy that are open. Here's the list. For places that are closed on New Year's, click here.

Grocery stores/convenience stores
- Wawa (7236 Germantown Ave.): Open 24 hours on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Acme (7010 Germantown Ave.): New Year's Eve, open until 8 p.m.; open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year's Day.
- Family Dollar (6555 Greene St.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Restaurants/coffee shops
- High Point Cafe (602 Carpenter Lane, 7210 Cresheim Rd.): Open New Year's Eve; open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. New Year's Day.
- Tiffin (7105 Emlen St.) Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Trolley Car Diner (7619 Germantown Ave.): New Year's Eve, open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; open regular hours New Year's Day.
- McMenamin's Tavern (7170 Germantown Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Golden Crust Pizza (7155 Germantown Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Black Pearl Restaurant (7200 Germantown Ave.): Open New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Five Star Restaurant (6667 Germantown Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Hong Kong Restaurant (6749 Germantown Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Panda House (6643 Germantown Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Panda Garden (275 W. Mt. Pleasant Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Pharmacies
- CVS Pharmacy (7065 Lincoln Drive): Open regular hours New Year's Eve; New Year's Day, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- CVS Pharmacy (6344 Stenton Ave.): New Year's Eve; open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; New Year's Day, open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Rite-Aid (1315 E. Washington Lane): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
- Rite-Aid (8243 Stenton Ave.): Open regular hours New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

Gyms
- FitLife (7140 Germantown Ave.): New Year's Eve, open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m; New Year's Day, open 8 a.m. to noon (classes and childcare are cancelled New Year's Day).

Video stores
- Video Library (7141 Germantown Ave.): New Year's Eve, open until 9 or 10 p.m.; open regular hours New Year's Day.

SEPTA
- There will be additional late-night trains running on New Year's Eve on bot the Chestnut Hill West and East lines to allow customers to come back from Center City after a fireworks display there. The final Chestnut Hill East train will leave 30th Street Station at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, while the last Chestnut Hill West train will depart Market East Station at 1:40 a.m. then. Trains on both the Chestnut Hill East and Chestnut Hill West lines will run on a Sunday schedule on New Year's Day (as will buses), which isn't any different from normal, because New Year's is on Sunday. The schedule on Monday, though, will be different, since that's when New Year's is being observed; those trains and buses will run on a Sunday schedule then.
