$50,000 in Jewelry Taken in Delphine Gunpoint Robbery

According to police, the robbery took place Thursday evening.

 

An employee of Delphine Gallery, 8435 Germantown Avenue, reported Thursday, Aug. 2, that she had been robbed at gunpoint while working in the store. The man who robbed the store escaped with about $50,000 in jewelry, according to police.

The robber was described in a police report as being in his 20s, weighing 200-240 pounds, wearing a white scarf over his face, and carrying a white handbag and a silver handgun.

According to police, the man pointed the gun at the employee and told her not to move or he would shoot.

After going through the display cases, the armed man fled on Germantown Avenue toward Highland, then took Highland where he got into a light green Explorer, police said. Police have released a photo of the vehicle on a poster that was found at the 14th District headquarters Monday evening, a picture of the photo can be seen in the photos attached.
